President’s Column – Fall 2021

In ALDA Archives Newsletter, President's Column by ALDA News

Hello ALDAns,

I hope you are enjoying the lovely Fall season.

I am recharged and full of love and ALDAhugs after attending ALDAcon 2021. I can’t tell you what it meant to me. To be able to hug and chat and reconnect with “my tribe” was so fulfilling! I am so glad we had the in-person convention. Everyone was relieved that we also made the convention vaccinations required. We all felt a bit safer. The venue was wonderful and very close to Niagara Falls. Many members visited the Falls and some did several times. The speakers and workshops were very well done. The evaluations showed that everyone was satisfied with everything. The food was great too!

I want to take a moment to thank Kim Mettache and Lisa Harbour for all their hard work in putting this conference together. They had to be very fluid and flexible due to the COVID restrictions that continued to change and evolve. This impacted whether many of us decided to come or not.

I want to also thank the ALDAcon committee for your contributions. Of course, we cannot forget the support of the ALDA Board. Thank you all! **ALDA Hugs** I think we are all excited and looking forward to sunny San Diego next year for ALDAcon 2022!

As we publish this issue of the ALDA News, we are coming up on the 2021 elections for the 2022 Board. Please see the recent e-blast about nominations and consider running for one of the positions or nominating someone you feel can help ALDA. We need you! The current positions up for election are: Region 1 Director, Region 2 Director, Treasurer, and Secretary

Enjoy this issue and enjoy the Holidays!
