It was an exciting quarter for all of us at ALDA. The main highlight was obviously the return of in person ALDAcon. It was a great success and the Niagara Falls location lent itself to some great pictures (check out our ALDAcon group here and here) and future blog posts for the website. So many great presentations and smiling faces helped make it an easy but busy quarter for those of us on the Communications committee, but it was worth it and we look forward to doing it all again next year in San Diego.

In addition to ALDAcon there’s the usual business of helping ALDA stay in touch with all our members and the rest of the world. Elections are coming up and we urge people to run for office or nominate someone to run for office. ALDA runs on volunteers and we need all the great people we can get to help us be more successful.

As usual everything we do for the website is pushed to social media in an effort to inform, educate and support… and also to grow ALDA’s footprint and name recognition. We urge everyone to follow our Facebook and Twitter feeds and help by liking, sharing and commenting on the posts you see. Every little bit help! Next year for ALDAcon we’ll want to enlist a group of photographers to take pictures and feed them to the communications team so we can live stream all the fun and information to be had.

Looking forward we hope to see even more changes to the website and other aspects of ALDA’s communications function with big plans coming in 2022 and beyond. As usual if you’d like to volunteer or simply write a blog post for the website or newsletter, feel free to reach out anytime.

Looking forward to a great holiday season and an even more exciting 2022.
