ALDAcon 2026 in Williamsburg, VA – FAQs

1) When is ALDAcon 2026?
ALDAcon is October 7-11, 2026

2) Where is ALDAcon 2026?
ALDAcon 2026 will be at the Williamsburg Lodge, 310 S England St, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

3) How do I register?
You may register for the ALDACon 2026 by clicking below:

    • Online Registration:  Click here to register online. (This option offers payment by credit card or EZ pay.) Below are the rates for members:
  • Regular Rate – $420 (valid from 7/1/26-9/30/26)
    • If you need a PDF version of the online registration form, please print this form (coming soon), fill it out, and either scan and email it.

4) Who do I contact for questions on the registration process?

5) Are discounts offered for ALDAcon 2026?
Membership Discounts: Yes, members get the best rates!

    • Current Members: If you need to renew your membership, you may do so on the ALDAcon registration page.
    • New Members: The membership fee is a separate fee to activate your membership and can be paid at the time of your registration. The membership fee is not reimbursable.
    • Zelle payments: If you use Zelle, you can save $10. Send your registration to treasurer[at]alda.org via Zelle. You will receive a discount if you pay your “Full Registration” in full. *Partial payments do not qualify for the discount.

Discounts, including Military/Veteran, Spouse/Partner, 250th Anniversary Rates and Early Bird Rates can be found on the ALDAcon registration page.

6) What is EZ Pay Plan and how does it work?
The EZ Pay Plan allows periodic payments and is available to paid ALDA members. An initial payment of $100 or more is required. You must sign up for the EZ Pay Plan by 6/30/26 and must pay the final balance by 9/15/26.

    • Activation: The EZ Pay Plan can be activated upon completion of your registration form.
    • Initial Payment: Minimum of $100.00 to start. Note your initial payment amount on the registration form. Take note of your Registration Identification Number.
    • Additional Payments (MUST USE REGISTRATION IDENTIFICATION NUMBER): Click here to pay in periodic installments or in full. The EZ pay link ONLY works with your Registration Identification Number.
    • NOTE: Membership dues must be paid in full along with the $100 minimum for the registration.

Monthly Invoice:  Reminders will be sent until your account is paid in full.  Deadline to pay in full is 9/15/26.

7)  How do I make Hotel Reservations?
ALDAcon hotel rates are available at the Williamsburg Lodge from 10/7/26 through 10/10/26. Book online or by phone by 9/8/26. Rooms may be limited, and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Individual reservations must be cancelled at or before 12:00 pm local time, 72 hours prior to arrival to avoid forfeiting one (1) evening’s room and tax charges.

For those who want to arrive earlier or stay later, ALDAcon 2026 room rates are offered subject to hotel availability starting 10/4/26 (three days before) and until 10/13/26  (three days after).

  • Online Reservations can be accessed HERE
  • Reservations by phone for October 7-11: Call the Williamsburg Lodge at 800-261-9530 between 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. M-F and identify yourself as part of ALDAcon 2026. Cancellations made within seven (7) days of ALDAcon 2026 will forfeit the cost of the first evening’s room and tax.

8) What is the Refund Policy? 

Refund requests:  Written requests submitted by 9/1/26 will be refunded minus a $100 administrative fee.  No refunds will be granted after this date.  No refunds for no-shows.

Substitutions: Registrations are transferable to another individual if requested by 9/23/26

  • Substitutions apply to conference registration only. Hotel reservations and associated costs are governed by the hotel’s policies.
  • If the substitute has dietary restrictions, we will accommodate them only as permitted by our hotel contract and within the timeline set by the venue.

Extenuating circumstances: Special consideration may be given for emergencies (e.g., severe illness, death in the family) with appropriate documentation.

Event cancellation: If ALDAcon 2026 is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, refunds or credits will be issued as appropriate.

10) I’d like to present at this event.  What do I need to do?

  • The Cal for Papers was closed on May 15, 2026.  The Program Committee will evaluate all submissions and will post a schedule soon.

11) Which airport do I fly into for Williamsburg, VA?

There are 3 airports near Williamsburg..

  • Newport News is 30 min. away but a smaller airport, and American, Delta, United, Southwest, Breeze Spirit , Frontier and Jet Blue airlines fly there.
  • Larger airports with more options is either Richmond, VA (RIC) or Norfolk, VA. (ORF). Both airporte about the same distance away, about 45 min.
