To Convention Attendees:

We are looking forward to see you in Chicago for 5 days of extraordinary workshops and speakers as well as fun and frolicking.

The Silent Auction room itself is an opportunity for late deafened people from all over to get to know each other while they battle for bargains at the tables laden with gifts, gadgets and technology that will enlighten their lives and add to the enjoyment of the convention.

Each item will have a bid sheet describing the item, the contributor/creator, the retail value, minimum bid and bidding increments.

As you stroll the aisles and spot that special something you’d like to take home you put your name on the list increasing the bid by the required increment. For example if the person before you bid $8.00 and the bid increment is $2.00 you must bid at least $10.00 to stay in the running.

Bidders can return to the Silent Auction room as often as they wish and bid on any item as many times as they want until the lights go out and bids are closed.

After the bidding, names of winning bidders will be highlighted on the bid sheet and you can pay by cash, check or credit card to claim your item and take it home as a special memento of your ALDAcon 2008 experience.

You can make our Silent Auction even more exciting by bringing a special item that you have made or purchased to be bid on and help support the full access provided at ALDAcon.

If you have something to bring please email Kim Mettache at Kimiam265@aol.com so she can prepare a special sign and bid sheet for your item.
